Stream challenges that viewers pay for only if you succeed

How a challenge works

Every challenge follows the same four steps.

  1. A viewer writes a challenge and pledges an amount from your page.
  2. It shows up for you to accept or decline.
  3. Once accepted, a countdown plays on stream.
  4. Complete it in time and the pledge is charged. Miss it and nothing is charged.

Why viewers like them

A challenge gives a viewer something for their money beyond a thank-you: they get to steer the stream. Because they only pay on success, it feels fair, and the countdown gives everyone in chat a reason to stay and watch.

Good challenges for gaming streams

The best ones are specific, possible and quick to judge.

  • Win the next round with pistols only
  • Finish the lap without touching a wall
  • Get three kills before the zone closes
  • Beat the boss without healing

You stay in control

You only take on challenges you accept, so nothing unsafe, against a game's rules or off-topic ever goes live. Challenges also pass through your blocked words and review settings.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I fail a challenge?

The viewer isn't charged. A pledge is only charged if you complete the challenge before the clock runs out.

Can I decline a challenge?

Yes. Challenges only go live after you accept them, so you can turn down anything that doesn't fit your stream.
