Where PayPal stands in Pakistan
PayPal has never launched officially in Pakistan. A trial scheme let a limited group of freelancers receive PayPal payments through a third-party intermediary, but that isn't a personal PayPal account and it isn't open to streamers in general. For tip jars that pay out to PayPal, Pakistan is effectively unsupported.
Stripe, the other processor most tip tools rely on, also doesn't list Pakistan as a supported country. So swapping one international tip jar for another usually hits the same wall.
The options, compared
Each option solves part of the problem. The question for a streamer is whether it gets money in and shows the support on stream.
| Option | Viewer pays with | Shows on stream | Moderation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wallet number in description | JazzCash, EasyPaisa | No, read out by hand | None |
| Bank transfer (IBAN) | Bank app | No | None |
| International tip jar | PayPal or card | Yes | Yes, but payouts don't reach Pakistan |
| Pop A Lime | JazzCash, EasyPaisa, card, QR | Yes, through OBS | Review queue, blocked words, mute |
Why local payment methods matter
A tip is an impulse. If a viewer has to find a card, convert a dollar amount and fill in a foreign checkout, most won't finish. Paying from a wallet they already use, in rupees, keeps that impulse intact. It's the same reason local checkouts beat international ones in Pakistani e-commerce.
Why posting your wallet number isn't enough
A number in the description works for a few regulars, but it doesn't scale. Your number is public, you have to check your phone mid-game, and nothing appears on stream to thank the viewer in front of everyone. That public moment is what makes other viewers want to tip too.
Frequently asked questions
Is Payoneer an option for streamers?
Payoneer is widely used by Pakistani freelancers to get paid by companies and marketplaces. It isn't a viewer-facing tip button, so it doesn't help a viewer send Rs 200 during a stream with an alert.
