Payment processing isn’t live yet. No real money is charged or paid out. You can set up your page and test alerts now.
Why the usual donation tools don't work in Pakistan
The big international tools assume you can receive money through PayPal or Stripe. Pakistani creators usually can't. PayPal remains officially unavailable in Pakistan, and Stripe doesn't list Pakistan among its supported countries. That cuts off the payout side of most tip jars before you even set one up.
Platform-native options have the same gap. YouTube's own help page lists the countries where creators can turn on Super Chat and Super Stickers, and Pakistan isn't on it. StreamElements' newer SE.Pay option is limited to 20 countries in Europe, North America and Australia, and it also requires PayPal.
| Option | Works for creators in Pakistan? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Super Chat | No | Pakistan isn't on YouTube's list of available locations |
| PayPal tip links | No | PayPal is officially unavailable in Pakistan |
| Stripe-based tip jars | No | Stripe doesn't support Pakistani businesses |
| StreamElements SE.Pay | No | Limited to 20 countries, and needs PayPal |
| Bank transfer in chat | Partly | Works, but there's no on-stream alert and no moderation |
| Pop A Lime | Yes | Priced in rupees, built for JazzCash, EasyPaisa and cards |
What Pakistani streamers do instead
Without a working tip tool, many creators post a mobile wallet number or bank details in their description and read out names by hand. It gets money in, but it has real downsides. Your number is public, nothing shows on stream when someone pays, and there's no way to hold back an abusive message before it's read out.
A dedicated tipping page fixes those problems. Viewers pay on a page you control, the payment triggers an alert in your stream automatically, and you decide what airs.
What to look for in a donation platform
Pick a platform that handles both sides of the payment: how viewers pay and how the alert reaches your stream. For Pakistani audiences, these are the things that matter most.
- Rupee pricing, so viewers see Rs 200, not a dollar amount converted at a bad rate
- Local payment methods your viewers already use, especially JazzCash and EasyPaisa
- On-stream alerts that work with OBS on YouTube, Kick and Twitch
- A review queue, so you can drop a message before it airs
- Read-aloud in a voice your audience understands, including Urdu
- A clear, published fee and payout terms
How it works on Pop A Lime
Setup takes three steps and no code. Your creator page lives in the browser, and alerts play through OBS, which you already use to stream.
- Claim your page. Choose a creator account and you get a page at popalime.com/u/yourname.
- Add one Browser Source in OBS. Paste your private overlay URL into a Browser Source and preview a test alert. Goal and leaderboard overlays are there when you want them.
- Go live and share your link in chat. Review messages before they air, or let them play straight away.
What viewers can send
Viewers aren't limited to a plain tip. Each format plays through your overlay and your review rules, and you choose which ones appear on your page.
- Tips with a text message, read aloud in a voice the viewer picks, in English or Urdu
- Recorded voice messages in the viewer's own voice, with a minimum amount you set
- Animated gifts with sound and the sender's name, which viewers can preview before sending
- Stream challenges, where viewers pledge and only pay if you complete the challenge in time
- Monthly memberships with your own perks, badges and Discord roles
- Optional desktop actions (in beta), like a key press on your PC, through the Windows companion app
Fees
Pop A Lime has two creator plans. The free Creator plan has no monthly price and takes a platform fee per payment. Creator Pro is a monthly plan with a lower fee. The minimum tip on a creator page is Rs 50.
The pricing page shows the current standard fees and payment holds, and your Studio always shows the terms that apply to your account.
Keeping your stream safe
Paid messages can still be abusive, so moderation matters as much as payments. Pop A Lime puts every message through rules you set before it reaches the stream.
- Take or drop: hold every message, only flagged or large ones, or none
- One-tap mute: pause all alerts mid-stream without losing anything in the queue
- Blocked words: terms that are never shown or read aloud
- Minimum amounts for text and recorded voice messages
How to get more tips on your streams
The platform gets the money in. What you do on stream decides how much of it arrives. A few habits make a clear difference.
- Mention your tip link in the first five minutes, then again after a big moment, not on a timer
- Thank supporters by name on stream. Other viewers notice, and it's the main reason people tip a second time
- Put a goal overlay on screen with a specific target, like a new mic or a game for next week
- Offer a challenge at a tense moment, such as a clutch round, when chat is already invested
- Keep the text minimum low so new viewers can join in, and save higher minimums for recordings
Checklist before your first tipped stream
Run through this once before you go live, and you'll avoid the common first-day problems.
- Creator page claimed and your display name set
- Overlay added to OBS as a Browser Source and a test alert sent
- Alert volume checked against your game and mic
- Review rules chosen: hold everything for the first few streams
- Blocked words added in Urdu and English
- Tip link in your description, pinned in chat and in your bio
Frequently asked questions
Can I use YouTube Super Chat in Pakistan?
No. YouTube's help page lists the locations where creators can enable Super Chat and Super Stickers, and Pakistan isn't one of them. Pakistani creators need a separate tipping page to accept paid messages during a live stream.
Can Pakistani streamers use Streamlabs or StreamElements for tips?
Both are good overlay tools, but their tip payouts depend on PayPal, cards through international processors, or SE.Pay, which only covers 20 countries. None of those routes is built for Pakistani creators or for JazzCash and EasyPaisa payments.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Your page and Studio run in the browser and alerts play through an OBS Browser Source. The Windows companion app is only needed for desktop actions, which are in beta.
What's the minimum tip on Pop A Lime?
The minimum tip on a creator page is Rs 50. Creators can also set their own minimums for text messages and recorded voice messages, so a recording can cost more than a plain tip.
Where can I see fees and payment holds?
The pricing page shows the current standard fees and how long new payments are held on each plan. Your Studio always shows the exact terms on your account.
